”Next, please!”
Matt Atron was disapprovingly blinking on his young colleague.
”What’s your problem with him? I think he was good enough!” he whispered not to let the Romeo aspirants, who just changed places, hear the conversation.
”That’s not enough!” Ruby said quickly. Her mediterranean glance almost flamed because of her maximalist words. ”I need the BEST!”
An other applicant took to the stage and started to say the few sentences which were unrelated to each other and exactly because of this, they sometimes were meaningless. Ruby was sure that only a true actor can perform anything, and literally ANYTHING as effectively that makes the audience’s soul tremble.
”What’s your name?” Mr. Atron asked the newest applicant in a monotonous voice.
”Samuel Winchester.” the answer sounded a little bit timidly.
Ruby wanted to lift her eyes just a moment to see into the eyes of the remarkably high young man, who just wiped his probably damp palms into his jeans. He worried. She didn’t need to be a pro to know it. Their glances interlaced and who knows how long would have Sam had Ruby’s darkbrown eyes to him, if Mr. Atron’s characteristic voice hadn’t filled up the large room.
”You may begin!”
And Sam Winchester began:
”He went closer to the stage. She just stared fixedly at him like she was bound by a spell...”
And Ruby, although she heard the crystal-clear words, didn’t imagine the sentences. Because these happened right now, right here. With the two of them...
At least that part which she wrote a few days ago after she had started up from her sleep.
Sam played her thoughts, her words exactly she expected. Finally Ruby found the One... the true Romeo. The True Actor.
”That’s why she hasn’t spoken Chinese on purpose ever since.” Sam finished with this out of turn sentence. The only reason Ruby wrote it in this compulsorily text everyone had to learn by heart of the casting, that she was curious, who is so suitabe that to solve it like Sam Winchester did right now.
There was no doubt: He is her man!
”Thank you! Next, please!” Matt’s voice drew her out her thoughts. So she said the very first word came to her mind:
”No!” Matt and also Sam was surprised. ”The audition is over.” she continued when she could collect her thoughts. She also realized that she wasn’t shouting but because of her fear she might loose the Perfect Actor; she started from her chair. ”Congratulation, Romeo!”
She was proud of herself, as well, because there wasn’t any trembling in her voice and she didn’t blush.
”May I ask you, why?” Mr. Atron asked her a few seconds later, when they were at the car-park of the school.
Ruby had opened the door of her car, then she looked back at him, and after that she answered:
”Because of the last sentence.” and she didn’t serve with further explanation.
She was driving home, behind the wheel and when nodody saw her, she smiled, while she was whispering to herself that certain last sentence:
”That’s why she hasn’t spoken Chinese on purpose ever since.”
